Aceria Guerreronis (Eriophyoid Mite), the Coconut Mite, has been a serious pest of coconuts in the Asia, Americas and West Africa for many years, and has recently been reported from the Indian sub-continent. In India these Mites came from Sri Lanka. The First Infection was Found in Ernakullam (Kerala) in the year 1998, from Kerala this infection spread all over India and in Maharashtra it was first found in the year 2002 at Vasai Taluka,THANE District and after that this infection spread in all parts of Maharashtra.
